Yard Work
I was on a mission yesterday, which almost turned into a disaster. I knew it was going to rain today so I wanted to mow the lawn and fertilize the day before. I put the lawn mower together in the garage and followed the directions. Had no idea how to attach the bag, but my Dad said leaving the grass cuttings outside acted as fertilizer. Next step, adding the gas and oil. I followed the directions like a good girl. I was instructed to pour the gas into the tank and leave 1/2 inch remaining at the top. Step 2, add oil and empty the entire contents of the bottle. Hmmm, there wasn't enough room. Oh well, I'll poured the amount that fit in. As I'm pouring I then realize there is a cap on the other side of the mower that says 'Oil.'
SHIT.
I call my Mother panicked and she says the lawn mower is most likely ruined and to call my Dad. He tells me to empty all the oil/gas into a coffee pot or any container and go buy more oil and fill it up the correct way. I felt like such an idiot! I went to Lowe's and an employee there told me everyone has done this, it was not a blonde moment. Right, I'm sure he was just saying that to make me feel better.
I got back to the house and filled up the gas tank and oil tank correctly. After 10 attempts at starting the engine, and 10 gassy explosions, it started. Phew! I mowed the lawn and felt pretty proud of myself. After the gas smell went away I got to enjoy the cut grass/onion smell. Love it.
I fertilized the yard and killed some more weeds too. Thankfully when Fraser got home I was all smiles and told him the story.
Mid afternoon I thought the day was going to be a disaster but thankfully I saved myself and the lawn mower and this did not happen!

First Snow Storm
I'm back, sorry I've been away so long. The new house and work were keeping me busy. Now it's time to look for another job since another graphic designer and I were laid off. Blah. Back to square 1 but I'm looking at different options now. Perhaps graphic design is something I will do on the side and brain trauma will be my main priority. People need to be educated about it, and I certainly have the experience! Here are pictures from a few weeks ago when we had a blizzard, 5-7 inches of snow! Had 1 day off of work too, wahoo.

Closing on Friday!
Fraser and I close and move into our house on Friday the 20th! Wahoo! Can't wait! We've been packing all weekend and will continue to pack the rest of the week. We have a U-Haul arranged for Friday night so we can pick up our new couches and then start loading in the boxes at the apartment. My parents are coming to help so hopefully we will have everything ready to go Saturday night! Lowe's comes Saturday to deliver our new kitchen :) and we will pick up our new bed on Saturday too. The Verizon Vios TV, internet and phone will hopefully be installed on Saturday too. Going to be a busy but exciting weekend. Here are a few more pictures:
